The corporation Manifatture Toscane Ta.Bru s.p.a is a centenary textile company specialized in the production of fabrics for leather goods, accessories, furniture and clothing.
Beside the traditional production of woven, canvas, liners and jacquard, company makes skins, laminate and many other innovative and experimental products.
The production is 100% made in Italy and is managed in the company’s factories to have the full control of the high standard of quality and sustainability.
Tradition, combined with continuous research and innovation, make Ta-Bru s.p.a. a forefront company and a stronghold for the most important fashion and furniture companies.

Our History
In the early 1900s, in the industrious lands of the province of Florence, the history of the company and the Targioni’s family began.
Brunetto Targioni, who was still a young boy, inherited the small business of straw weaving from his parents and turning it in a productive factory of hats and luxury handbags.
However he realized quickly that the future would be in the weaving and that a new era was beginning. So he decided to buy a spinning machine and started to work rags (“i cenci”) to make strong fabrics for blankets and shoes. He always had an eye on the future and he made many changes of the company to make it bigger and more productive.

When in 1953 he passed away untimely, the last of his five children Franco, just eighteen, succeeded him at the helm of the company, leading it, together with his brothers, to its expansion and industrialization.

Franco understood the potential of the fabrics’s market for leather goods ( handbags and shoes) so he starts an innovative and unique production of woven fabrics made with textile looms modified under his instructions. In few years he bought a new weaving factory in Annone Brianza, in the north of Italy, specialized in jacquard’s fabrics production.

In 1955 the company has been registered as Manifatture Toscane Ta-bru ( Ta-bru is an acronym of Brunetto Targioni) and when in 1977 it became a Ltd company its already a value part of the italian manufacturing sector due to the unbelievable business and creative skills of Franco Targioni.
Nevertheless the show must never stop so the process of research and growth keeps going:
the great-grandchildren of the founders enter the company, new production processes are patented, trademarks are registered, invested in new technologies and new markets are explored.

Our History
Nowadays company is still a family business and the members of the household are working for the company with different positions: Franco Targioni who is on charge of board director, his son Alessandro and his nephews Barbara and Brunetto Targioni.
Alessandro Targioni is working in the company as CEO , Barbara is looking after the whole furniture fabrics sector and Brunetto is looking after the creative side and production of fabrics for leathergood and footwear.
